Aeolian Thursday Night Rowing and Dining Society

The Thursday Night Rowing and Dining Society is a chartered group within the Aeolian YC, formed to promote our pleasure in each other's company, and in our rowing boats, at sunset and otherwise. The Society is inclusive, not exclusive. We are members of the club and occasional guests who like to get together often, to eat, and to row. Because the one rule we have is that there are no other rules, you have to get the information for that week by email, answer it, and come. The day of the week and the time we meet are decided each week. We might take two or three boats out toward the Bay, drop anchor, eat pot luck, watch the sunset, and row back. Or we might row into the Estuary to eat at a restaurant somewhere and sail back. Sometimes we row to Angel Island or San Francisco.

To find out more about what we do, visit the Traditional Small Craft Association - Sacramento website or contact Barbara Ohler.

Locally there are several sites for launching small boats:

  • Grand street (Oakland side)
  • Doolittle (near the rental car lots)
  • Just north of Encinal High school (follow the small road to the North)
